Reasons Your Spells Aren't Working

Magick is never a sure thing. Witchcraft, like life, does not promise everything. Often, even with perfect instruction, casting a spell or doing something is insufficient. There are numerous factors that witches may overlook when crafting spells, which can a.) cancel out a spell or b.) backfire on the spell's caster.

If you've come here because your spell did not work, you must first center yourself and detach yourself from egoic thoughts that may be impeding your ability to internalize the truth.

Reason #1: You do not have the authority to cast the spell.

Don't get me wrong: magick is for everyone, but it should not be practised with a skewed mind. If you don't see a good reason to do it, perhaps you shouldn't do the spell at all. Even worse, anger-based spells can backfire rather than work as intended. As a result, caution is advised.

Gambling spells are another type of spell that you should avoid casting. Bets have their own set of rules that are incompatible with witchcraft. Your spirit guides are wise enough not to let you win a game but lose in another area of your life. Consider your victory to be fate. If you lose, look at it as a learning experience.

Reason #2: Low-frequency thoughts influence your spells.

Before casting any spell, you should consider why you want what you're attempting to manifest. Why are you looking for a new lover? Why are you promoted? Resolving the source of the desire can lead you to a better place – even better than where you planned to be.

Envy, jealousy, pride, and anger are examples of low-frequency thoughts that do not support positive manifestations. When your wishes do come true, however, they frequently come with a negative side effect. It either doesn't work or works in a negative way.

Reason #3: Failure to extend efforts

Spells are useless unless you support them with your actions. Wishing for something isn't enough. Adding direction to your spells will aid you in achieving your goal. For example, if you want to ace an exam, the best way to cast a spell is to ask for guidance, encouragement, and energy to complete all of the necessary study steps. Everything else will just fall into place.

Reason #4: Concentrating on what you don't want.

Another reason you might not be getting what you want is that you are focusing too much on what you don't want to happen. It is what manifests when you mention something too frequently. You see, if you say in a spell, "I will not fail," you're more likely to fail. Why? The universe has a problem with language. It always assumes that what you say repeatedly is what you are attempting to manifest. If at all possible, avoid words with negative connotations and be direct about what you really want.

Reason #5: Using the incorrect method

Witches practise in a variety of ways and frequently discover practises through their own experiences. Some witches may be used to casting spells in jars, whereas others prefer to cast spells in bags or outside of their home.

This is not to say that personal practises should be avoided. Some methods, however, may violate a few magical laws. For example, if you're casting a banishing spell, the last thing you want to do is remember it. Banishing spells must be cast and then thrown away outside or somewhere else other than your home.

Reason #6: Your target is safe.

Working a curse spell on someone is the last thing we want to encourage for reason #2. However, if you've recently worked on a curse spell, aside from the fact that reason #2 is preventing it from happening, another reason it might not be working is that your target is protected. Furthermore, your target may have performed some reversal rituals, causing your spell to harm you instead. Take care of the people you cast evil glances at. Better to simply wish them well.

Reason #7: You have clogs.

Another reason your spell may not be working is because of blockages in your aura or the room in which you are working. Energy is important in spells because it is what keeps them going. It is the foundation of all ritual work, and you must do everything possible to keep your space clean. You should avoid working in areas with low-frequency energy. Purify your surroundings!
